Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

The following page will inform you about the most frequently asked questions. If you have any further questions please contact us at support@artcollectorsclub.org.

Who selects the artworks for the events?

With our membership-concept we are able to attract interesting curators from all over the world. They do the selection of artworks for each event and have art consultants and internet experts from our team to support them in chosing the most interesting selection for our members.

What is a curator at ArtCollectorsClub?

The ArtCollectorsClub invites interesting curators to present artists and their artworks to the ArtCollectorsClub community. We take great care in selecting those curators who have only established or emerging artists with the greatest interest for our members. The word “curator” is not used in the traditional art-world sense. Our curators are the “presenters”, the “art djs”. They do not necessarily have to be curators in the “real” world. They  can be art collectors, artists, gallerists or publishers.

To find out more about the curator of each event please check out the description of the event and the curator section on our website.

What is an edition?

An edition is a limited run of a particular artwork. Each piece is numbered  in a way that indicates how large the edition is and with a number assigned to each. For example, if a work is described as "Edition of 30, signed and numbered" it means that there exist only 30 prints of this photograph and that the artist has signed and numbered each one. The smaller the edition, the more exclusive the work. The larger the edition, the less expensive, so it is a balancing act. The numbering is indicated in the following way: 1/30, 2/30 and goes up to 30/30. Once an edition is closed the production of this artwork is finished. Occasionally, our artists will have produced the same image but in a vastly different size,  for example Olofsson’s Hide & Seek exists in an edition of 6 in a large size, 180 x 180 cm.

A “numbered edition” is signed and numbered from 1 up to the number when the edition is closed. For some of our events the artists will create an exclusive ArtCollectorsClub edition that will be limited to the time period of the ArtCollectorsClub event. The edition will be closed on the last day and no more pieces will be produced. When the buyer receives the print, a certificate will be provided indicating at what number the edition stopped. For example you purchased number 6/23.

If an artwork is described as  "Exclusive edition for ACC".  What does this mean?

"Exclusive edition for ACC" is an edition produced exclusively for ACC, not an edition that already existed.

Can I buy originals at ACC?

Yes, we list both unique works and original artworks available in  a limited edition. Each work is signed and numbered by the artist. We do not sell reproductions of original artworks. The prints we provide are created originally by the artist as prints in a limited edition.

What is a C-print?

Also called a chromogenic print, it is a photograph that is printed from a color negative on light-sensitive paper. It is comprised of three layers – each layer sensitized to one of light’s primary colors: blue, green and red.

I have seen an art work I would like to buy but it was in a former event. How can I buy an art work from an event which is not currently running?

We sell only the art works of current events. Please get in contact with us if you have further questions about an artwork from a previous event. We will try to get you in contact with the curator and clarify with you if it is still possible to buy an artwork from a past event.

If the event has not started yet, please wait until the event is running
